The Instructors.

Murray Hallam is probably the most well known face in the world-wide aquaponics movement. He discovered aquaponics in 2006, and immediately put his fibre glass and boat-building skills to work to build and sell aquaponics systems and equipment through Practical Aquaponics in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.

He is perhaps best known around the world, for his outstanding aquaponics full length video series: Aquaponics Made Easy, Aquaponics Secrets, and the recently released DIY Aquaponics. His entertaining and educational short videos can be found on you tube by searching for "Murray Hallam Aquaponics".

Murray has a trade and business background and together with tertiary education has developed broad Aquaponics knowledge and skills. His gold standard Aquaponics kits are distributed right around Australia in their hundreds and have also been exported to New Zealand, Hong Kong, United States. Feedback from Murray's large client base has provided valuable development data for our knowledge base Aquaponics.

Murray Hallam has conducted several training classes in Aquaponics over the last 4 years. These past courses have been held in Brisbane, Sydney Adelaide and Melbourne Australia.

Additionally, Murray has conducted and lectured in Aquaponics seminars in Oceanside California, Denver Colorado and Brookville Florida.

Murray was a keynote speaker at the World Aquaponics Association Conference in Orlando Florida.

Murray is an experienced teacher and lecturer having also taught for a number of years at Ipswich and Bundamba TAFE colleges.

Aleece Landis, more commonly known as the hands on Aquaponics expert TCLynx, has been enthralled with Aquaponics since 2007.

TC learned much of her Aquaponics know how engaging in all kinds of forums and online communities and now is one of the “go-to” people on many sites.

Aside from helping all levels of Aquaponics enthusiasts, TCLynx also devotes her time to duckaponics, permaculture and Helping Families Grow Food for her Business, Aquaponic Lynx, LLC.

In suburban Orlando, Florida USA, in what can be termed “waste land’, Sahib “has developed several models of miniature re-circulating farms to fit in small, under used spaces, such as storage rooms and patios. In only 18 square feet, Sahib’s “Zero Lot” Backyard Aquaponic System combines a variety of plant beds with a 55-gallon fish tank.. He aims to build a totally self-sufficient system that can be deployed anywhere, from developing-world villages to U.S. neighborhoods.

Michael Cosmo started in Aquaponics at New Alchemy Institute on Cape Cod in the Late 70s. Michael was awarded an Apprenticeship on the staff because of his experience building geodesic dome homes and greenhouses and his education at St. Louis University in Environmental Studies and Documentary film.

New Alchemy Institute was a leading research institute in many appropriate technologies and also focused on Solar Aquaculture as Aquaponics was know then. At New Alchemy Institute Michael worked in various Bio-Shelters and with alternative technologies including wind, solar and greenhouse and bio-shelter structures. The scientist at New Alchemy Institute did ground breaking work in identifying the Bio-cycles of Aquaponics. Michael went on to work on and build various other greenhouses and bio-shelters around the US.

Today Michael is known for Planet Stewards, an internet destination where you can find many dozens of interviews and videos of the leaders in Aquaponics. He is the host of this conference and a speaker in Greenhouse - HighDensity Hybrid Aquaponics. His greenhouse has an integrated system of Vertical, DWC and Media bed systems.

Cancellation policy: Requests for cancellation of registration must be received in writing. Cancellations received by 30 August 2012, will be subject to a cancellation fee of 15%, which will be deducted from the refund. If the event needs to be cancelled because of an unforeseen cause beyond the organizers control (such as Acts of God, fire, strikes, and natural disasters, etc.) you will be refunded your registration fee less 15% to cover incurred organizational costs.
