Hey Bigdaddy,
Here's a link to another story I saw on ABC recently regarding Tassie Dairy farmers, but the problem's not restricted to Tassie.

There was also a segment on ABC recently about a large Indian company buying up 40% of Australia's Almond industry even though our Almond industry isn't competetive from a price point of view when compared to other areas around the world. It turned out the company wasn't interested in Almonds, the properties they've bought come with massive water rights and that's what they are interested in.
IMO our government needs to do something to greatly restrict how much property can be sold off to overseas interests... and soon!... we need a petition!
