I have these little fish in the dam and was wondering ifsomeone can identify what they are, about 2cm long, sorry about the bad photos.

Pretty sure they are gudgeons.
Purple spotted or fire tail maybe, but there are many types.
These are native and seem to do no harm to my tanks which they share with some GP and bass.
Eventually they will end up as food but only the smaller ones are getting eaten for now.
I catch them in my dam and feed them to the fish along with plenty of glass shrimp.

Our gudgeon down here look a bit different but the same if you know what I mean. Getting very scarce down here with the lack of water flows over the last decade

Look like Mosquito fish to me I,ve got hundreds in my dam, they swim in schools around in about an inch of water right at the edge. Not much use for anything.
