hey guys this question is more focussed at the aquarium guys but anyone jump in,

can u see any issue with putting my 'oscar' (aka Amy) in the AP system? my Jades are about 120-200mm now so i dont think it will try and eat the others? any one had experience with oscars eating other fish that big? i know theyre an aggressive fish but im just not sure?

the pump in the Amy's tank has packed it in, thats why im thinking of throwing it in with the others :)

Byron, how big is Amy ?

One thing to consider....
At another site, a few of the guys have raised aquarium fish for years, before getting into AP. They mention that 'feeder goldfish' 'can' often harbor diseases. Part of the problem.... they are raised so crowded and are often given lots of anti-biotics.

Of course, I'm 'guessing' your feeding Amy 'goldies'. Hope they don't introduce something to your Jades. I don't know how much of an issue it 'may' be...just thought I'd mention it.

Keep us posted.....hope it goes well.

amy is 300mm maybe? and i feed her pellet food, been testing the jade feed to see if she'll eat it.

only just thought about the feed, not sure the jade feed is suitable for her?ill look at the bag of food iv got for her see whats in it :) have already started to drop her tank temps by a few degrees every couple of days :)

Why do you want to put Amy in with the Jades? Has she outgrown her tank?

oscars generally don't like other fish. You might have aggression problems. But as long as the Jades are big (at least equal size) you might be OK. anything less and the oscar is likely to see if it will fit in its mouth.

i stole an idea directly from murray but it works perfectly well, just take a plastic basket and tie some pool noodles to it. instant spare cage in the same tank!!

i think bits of the jades will fit in Amy's mouth so i might leave it as it is. start a nft setup with Amy's tank :)

and cptn brad, that is a good idea but i think amy needs a bit more room then a basket. shes not small. but i hadnt thought of that, thanks.
