Odor?

Hi guys…

Maybe this should be addressed more to those that do aquaponics in a greenhouse as it is an enclosed space but I was wondering if there is a strong odor associated with the system?

I have read lots of information about setups and see peoples' progress that they have posted as things went along but I haven't seen anything on smell. Maybe because there isn't one I don't know. But for my situation I would be setting it up in my unfinished basement and I wondered about smell in a confined area.

If you wouldn't mind sharing your experience in this area I would appreciate it.

Normally there is no smell the only time there is a smell is if the system isent working properley ie [dead fish ect ]

but I haven't seen anything on smell.
That is because it is as FF says, everything going fine or even just average there is no smell.
Only if you manage to kill a few fish and you don't attend to it immediately.

My system is in our shed and there is no smell at all. Like tphe other guys say, the smells arrive when something is going amiss.

i had a strange odor around my tank for a while and was stumped trying to figure it out, turns out the lil ****** jumped out and was wedged in between the sump and tank, another time i left my older bro in charge of feeding while i was away apparently drastically overfeeding will also lead to quite a stink! hope that helps

That will do it every time.......nothing like a dead fish to spoil the greenhouse ambiance.
