Almost a week now since the install/setup. Ammonia and Nitrite levels climbing, Ph around 7.8. Plants put in the system - Several varieties of leaf lettuce and a heading lettuce for my cuisine challenged husband. Silverbeet, mini cabbage, eggplant , capsicum three varieties of heirloom tomatoes, celery, thyme, oregano and a trial sugar baby watermelon to trail over the side and onto the garden. Oh and strawberries (of course).
Plans to create a cover in the near future....
Plants are all doing well except when the Kelpie pup decided to use the beds as a launching platform to try to get to an owl in the back yard. Dont-cha just love being able to just push the plants back in instead of digging dirt???? Everything except the smallest lettuce has survived.

Good one Wen1....glad to see you got it all together and working.
When the time comes, If you can't get any fish , I have some 6 month old Silvers here that may be of help to you.

Sounds like a great start, wen1; but I should tell you that one of the unwritten rules of this forum is that we don't believe anything without photographic evidence! ;)

And progress shots are particularly good, so start snapping now ... Oh, and welcome!!

Hiya cyberfish - I did try to attach photos but it said that the files were too big and I had to dash off this morning and didn't have time to play with the images. I will try and have a play tonight and post some. Got any hints as to what size I should be doing the images????

Hi Murray,
Yes we got it all up and working, Thank you for your offer, it is very kind of you- I will keep it in mind.

Looks good! You'll be able to grow so much, once the system's fully operational!

BTW, where did you find the garden gnome to sit on the fishtank lid?? ;)
