This is worth a look:

What if human consciousness isn't the end-all and be-all of Darwinism? What if we are all just pawns in corn's clever strategy game to rule the Earth?

Author Michael Pollan asks us to see the world from a plant's-eye view in this 17 minute talk available on the TED channel. Watch the last 7 minutes as he really explains how Permaculture integrates all the elements together - from cow poo to chickens chomping into it looking for grubs and what then happens under the soil when the top half of the grass is eaten.
