1. The Practical Aquaponics discussion forum has been in operation for the last 5 years...

We have enjoyed giving this service free of charge however ongoing increasing financial costs of running this service is making it increasingly difficult. Up until now we have resisted advertising as a means of a revenue stream to help run this forum but it has become inevitable that extra revenue is required to run this forum.

We have introduced a donate button to help offset the cost of running this forum. It is completely voluntary, but if you would like to donate, all donations would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks Murray..

I had recently sent additional information you requested to you on my deficiency problem but have not seen a reply. Want to make sure you got the information i sent. Since that time i have seen an improvement, but would like to lay my questions to rest about what is best to add and how much to cover all areas.

      thanks

        Hi Kyle,

This message board only allows 400 characters, so I can't reply properly. Questions such as this are probably best posted on the open forum, that's what it's here for after all. The forum enables you to access the knowledge/experience of many, as opposed to just one opinion. I will PM you my response.

        Cheers!

..Yabbies...Do you have any info regarding the 'expected' increase of filtration by adding red worms, to a system/ grow beds, that is large on water and short on GB's ?

No sorry, Murray would probably be the man to speak to in that regard, he discusses the benefits of worms in aquaponics in his seminars.

        Cheers.

Yabbies....are you the guy that developed and built a "one barrel" system in which the top 1/3 of the barrel was inverted to use as a grow bed ...a hole was then cut in the side to feed the fish....
If that's not you...do you know who that person is..?

Hi, If you click on the "Forums" tab, then look for the "Water Chemistry" heading, it contains a thread titled "Reducing or Dropping System Water pH Safely."... it should contain all the info you need. Cheers!

The system was designed and built using the K.I.S.S. principal, it runs brilliantly, I haven't had any major dramas, it only has one pump that runs 24/7, no timers or anything that can stuff up. You can get all the parts you need from a hydro store and your local hardware.

      Cheers, Yabbies.
