Send it to South WA Shane. Dams around here that should have been overflowing months ago still have a lot too go.

This will be of only interest to Queenslanders hooked up to town water - but that $1 billion desal plant the QLD Govt recently built up here as a matter of urgency is to be mothballed!

Unfortunately QLD taxpayers will be saddled paying off this white elephant for years to come...

Might as well turn it off... it wont be needed this summer anyway....

SEQ, including Brisbane.... could well see the biggest floods since '74...

Northern NSW, Ballina/Lismore/Grafton/Coffs will probably go under as well...

As will Sydney and the South Coast...

And the current floods in Central NSW.... are just a fore taste....

    Which politician do you believe?

It really is a sad joke!!! Down here our 1.5 billion,2 billion or just put any figure on it over 1.5 billion desal plant must be running at all times even when we don't need to make water otherwise it just stuffs up according to our parlamatarians, costing 10's of millions of dollars per year which we all will have to pay extra for.

Your pollie up there says you can turn yours off and cop this, he says he hopes the councils will not profitteeer about the 10 million dollars every year they will save when your plant is off and pass the savings onto the public.

To use a well known cleche" you have to beleive in fairies at the bottom of the garden if you think that will happen,John".(Paul Keating debating with John Hewson on the consumption tax issue.& me using a bit of poetic licence).

Just like our current treasurer saying to the banks don't increase the interest rates any more than the reserve bank does, please.Yeah that happened too didn't it. Not,twice.

    Cheers.
