Default First AP system in Zagreb, Croatia :)

and here it is everyone! Winter has passed and I finally managed to find some time to set it up...thanks Murray to your input over the web and I look forward to your and everyone's help as the system matures.

I've already encountered the first obstacle: the system's pH is 7.5 and I'm trying to lower it with hydrochloric acid. I managed to get a 9% solution and I'm not sure if this will be strong enough. The water volume is 500 liters, and I'd like to know how much of the solution I should be adding daily. Any suggestions?

Very impressive set-up! Congratulations! Incidentally, though, what have you used for the growing medium in your strawberry towers? It looks to me like Graviton, but how do you manage to put plants in place? How do you provide nutrients?

My own attempt (s - the were several) to grow strawberries was a miserable failure. First, to put the plants in place was difficult - not so much so the first time I planted (I simply held the plants in place then poured in the pebbles around them using a scoop), but when plants died and had to be replaced I had a terrible time with the clay pebbles. Next, all of the towers immediatly plugged up with a kind of green slime which seems to be peculiar to Texas: trying to clean the pebbles, restore flow, re-set the plants and all the rest one encounters with any similar situation was hugely wrought with difficulty.

I've now filled the towers with normal garden soil - just unwilling to give up the towers and all the effort they cost me - and am trying pole beans and peas.

Again, however, congratulations on you system - and best of luck with the project.
