Thread: Mid North Coast Aquaponics

    Default Mid North Coast Aquaponics

I'm keen to speak to anyone out there living on the Mid North Coast, particularly Port Macquarie keen to look at getting together over a beer and looking at putting together a "Community Garden".

I see some people have lots of knowledge, and not much space, others have space, not much knowledge, others lack time, and others have too much of it.
Also a joint approach would make sourcing things like IBC's easier/cheaper if we had enough people to get a full truck load from a supplier in the city.

Obviously there's logistics involved but the beer helps that.

Not sure if anyone's keen, won't be offended if no one replies, just thought I'd throw it out there.

It is a really good idea Mynott.
Is there a regular community garden in your area. It may be possible to get a piece of land of the local council and local councils sometimes have funding for such projects.

Great idea, i encourage you to Start early! Having worked in local government assisting community groups, gardens, i have found that can take a few years to get the green light to commence. the beer should work it out..

Thanks for the encouragement chaps, and so it shall come to pass!! It begins as an aquaponics group of one member, it can only get bigger from here!!!

Our council's currently in administration so I'll not hold my breath for any help from them. I'll keep anyone posted to the progress if they're interested
