Default Roof top gardens- a good idea for goats !

My eldest lad has just returned from a trip to Norway and took these shots of roof tops that are frequently seen in that country.

    Hi Soltun,
My son met a very fine young lady from Oslo when she was studying at QUT here in Brisbane about 10 years ago. A romance has rekindled and he flew off to see her again. They took a road trip from Oslo to Bergen and back. A really beautiful part of the world for sure, and by the number of photos of her with waterfalls in the background we had to endure last night, I suspect there will be a bit more international travel going on...

I was fascinated by the roof tops being covered in grass and I asked my son for those photos as I thought some forum members might be interested in different type of roof top garden.

Is that an automatic lawnmower and grass fertilisation unit on the roof? There must be some good insulation properties using that system. I wonder how they fix any leaks?

No leaks, if buildt properly. Modern peat roofs come with a 50 year waranty, expected life 100-150 years minimum.

They (peat roofs) have a renecance now days even in citys.

Bergen is the "Capital" of Western Norway so the pics are from that side of the mountains I gues.
