I have got my housemates to agree to cease the aerosol use. As for the screenprinting theres nothing I can do...but the only risk I can see there is that the following substances will be floating around about once or twice a month.....and I will be given prior warning when that occurs so I can cover it all up with builders plastic. The substances are....

and this glue gets used from time to time:

So If I go to the trouble of encapulating the GB's and FT and Sump so that when these chems are being used about ten metres away - do you wreckon It should be right?? Sorry about being padantic just tryna figure this out for my urban (less than ideal) scenario.
The chems are applied to screens and then blasted off with a pressure hose, and then down the drain...you can see droplets of water floating around If you look hard enough. But not in too significant an amount.
What can I do if 2 doors over is spraying something, pesticides, aerosol ecetera - I guess thats one of the problems with urban living - poly tunnel would perhaps help mitigate some of this problem - I think I need to chill, I can't control everything - as it stands I have no input into how the food that I eat is grown so this I guess is a step in the right direction.
Cheers again - pardon my frantic paranoia
Hi Morgan,
I guess you are right, it is a by-product of urban existence. It is like everything we do in moving toward sustainability and cleaner living. We have to do the best we can with what we have at our disposal.
I am so happy that I chose to buy 10 acres and have lived here for the last 36 years, and have great neighbours.
My nearest neighbour to my greenhouse is about 250 mtrs away, which is great.
It is poor country so it is ideal for AP.

Sounds like a pretty nice place to live, I am 50M away from a major rd - that is constantly being used - live with four others - surrounded by neighbours that I do not know - urban living - grrrrrr....
I don't want to bail on AP because I am in an urban enviroment - I think I just need to be smart about it - and if some nasties get in every now and then - it's probably comparable to living close to a major road or airport - what can you do???
