Does it need to be vertical like in the diagrams or angled like the pics below? Does it matter or any pro's cons to either?

Sorry to be a pain again, could someone please advise what kind of pump i would need for this system? what LPH and watts etc..
cycle your GB every 30min. decide weather your going to be constant flow or flood and drain system... This will define the size of pump
