how much food???

new member - 1000 ltr tank and two growbeds - installed the plants a month ago - feeding with seasol every day - the system had stabilised last week (pH6.5) introduced 50 jade perch last week - i'm lucky if i see them - they hide behind the pump!!
how much food do i feed them?? 1 teasp - 2 teasp - 3 - 4?? whatever i feed them get washed away with the discharges of the two growbeds - the water is clear so i assume i'm not overfeeding - but i dont want to underfeed

Don't worry too much Bill, It takes a little while for new fish to settle down.
They are not like dogs or cats, they won't die straight away if they don't feed.
Once you get them to feed, just watch them feed and give them as much as they use....once they slow down, stop feeding.

If the pump is sucking up the feed lift the pump and put it on a brick so that you can observe left over food on the floor of the tank.
Sometimes they will just not feed while you are watching them.

Often you will come out in the morning and the food is gone, they have eaten overnight.

I have a belief that the fish get to know you and they are habitual, I stand in the same place and as near as possible at the same time each day to feed small new fish.
If you do overfeed, scoop it out with a net and feed it to the worms the next morning.

Seasol....only 1 CAP a day until your system cycles.
