Coco Peat is a natural by-product of the coconut industry and is one of the worlds best 100% natural plant growing mediums. This is a natural renewable resource.
This 5 Kg block when soaked in water will become 65 litres in volume
This blend contains coco peat chips from 10mm down to very small less than 1mm in size. This is an excellent medium for growing all types pf plants in Aquaponics and is an excellent Hydroponic growing medium.
A neutral organic Grow Medium with excellent moisture retention and drainage qualities.
Protects plant roots from extreme weather conditions in winter and summer.
Will not decompose quickly.
Stable pH.
Free from toxins, chemicals and pathogens.
This product is the darling of the Hydroponics and Orchid Growing fraternity.
In an Aquaponic flood and drain system it works very well. I have been using this blend for more than 4 months with excellent results.
Warning....It will discolour the water in your system to a colour like very strong tea. I have found that this will gradually lessen over time as the other grow beds in my system filtered the colour out very slowly.
My Silver and Jade Perch loved the discolouration as it provided them with the ability to hide and therefore feel unthreatened.
This water discolouration is of no consequence in a Hydroponics system.
