Pump - 12 volt x 500 gph with Float Switch, lead, hose & fittings.
This pump and float switch assembly for the removal of water from the collection sump in the event of a mains power failure.
The pump will be switched on automatically by the Backup Power Fail Switch Assembly.
The float switch will turn this pump on and off as the water level changes in the collection sump, and will turn the pump off completely once all the water is cleared back to the fish tank.
This pump is needed in the collection sump in the event that the mains power fails and at that time of failing the grow beds are still draining water. It is essential to conserve the water returning from the grow beds and return it to the fish tank.
The action of the float switch that is pre wired to the pump minimises the use of battery power by only operating the pump when water is present in the collection sump.
This action extends the available power stored in the battery system.
This leaves more power to be used by the pump situated in the Fish tank which is critical in providing aeration during a mains power outage.
