Watercress is very fast growing.
Watercress in the wild can sometimes be found near slow-moving streams. Watercress is a wonderful, leafy green food source that is a close cousin to mustard greens, and arugula (rocket).  Watercress is a part of the cruciferous (also known as Brassica) family of vegetables along with kale, cabbage, broccoli, and Brussels sprouts.

Watercress is a very versatile plant. It can be used as a salad green with lettuce or fresh spinach, steamed and eaten as a vegetable, in stir fries and soups imparting a very mild, pepper-like flavour. It's also good in sandwiches.
