Backup Pump - with hose and fittings

A submersible 12 Volt pump (500 GPH) that provides emergency aeration to your fish tank in the even of a mains-power failure when used in conjunction with the Backup Switch.

The pump comes with extended, waterproofed leads, and hose and fittings to give you choice about how you mount the pump for your particular situation.

The pump sits is in the bottom of your fish tank. The hose rises up from the pump to a point above the waterline and directs a stream of water back down onto the surface of the water in the tank. This usually provides enough aeration to get your fish through a blackout. Without adequate aeration, fish can start to suffer in as little as 20 minutes and be dead within an hour. (Designed for tanks up to 3000 L [about 800 US Gal]. Larger tanks are not recommended, for a number of reasons, but if you have one, it would require several pumps to provide adequate aeration.)
