This kit contains 10 GroPockets, 10 net pots, one sprinkler, and one splash guard - enough for one six-foot (180 cm) GroTower.
GroPockets are used to turn 100mm (4") PVC pipe into the ideal vertical growing system, a GroTower. Just drill the appropriate holes in the pipe and glue the GroPockets over them. Once dried, simply place your mini slotted pots (net pots) in the GroPockets to hold the plant crowns above the wet root zone. The special low-volume sprinkler distributes the nutrient-rich water from your aquaponic system down the inside of the pipe, giving your plant roots a constant supply.
To help drill the holes in suitable places in the pipe to give good spacing for the GroPockets, we recommend using a Grow Tower Drilling & Set-out Template (sold separately).
The Grow Tower has no media in it, making it easy to harvest your plants - just lift the net pots out of the GroPockets. No tangled roots. This design facilitates the lowest operating cost of any vertical growing system. Commercial aquaponics growers can now have the advantages of higher plant densities in greenhouses with low labour cost.
