GroPocket Tower KIT

Turn a 100 mm (4") PVC pipe into a vertical garden! 

With 10 GroPockets, 10 net pots (50 mm / 2"), a sprinkler and a splash guard, this kit sets you up to build one 1.8 m (6') tower.

Just drill the appropriate holes in the pipe and glue the GroPockets over them!  So easy!

Once you've installed the pipe vertically in your system, simply place a 50mm (2") net pot in each GroPocket.  The design of the pocket holds the base of the pot in the right position to catch the water flowing down the inside of the pipe. 

Harvesting is just as easy!  Simply lift the pot out of the pocket and replace it with another pot.  So easy!

These GroPockets are designed for a GroTower that has no media in it.  None at all!  This design makes it a low-cost, low-maintenance vertical system.  No clogging.  No roots tangled in media.  Just water and plant roots inside the pipe.

Great for home aquaponics systems.  Add another 'garden bed' using very little floor space.  ...or none at all, if you build the tower over the sump!

Great for commercial systems.  Take advantage of higher plant densities in the greenhouse, with low labour cost.

Some GroTower Tips

• The 10 GroPockets of this kit will comfortably fit a 100 mm (4") PVC pipe about 1.8 m (6') long.
• Place the pockets on the sunny side of the tower, unless you have a device to continually rotate the tower so that all plants get good sun exposure.
• Set out the pockets so that the upper plants don't shade the ones below.
• A GroTower Drilling & Set-out Template (sold separately) will help you drill the holes in suitable places along the pipe.
• You will need a 54 mm (2¹/₈ ") hole saw to make the right-size holes in the PVC pipe.
• Circular holes work just fine; you don't have to make them oval shaped.
• Each tower needs about 2 Lpm of water flow.
• The low-volume sprinkler included in the Kit distributes the nutrient-rich water from your aquaponics system and sprays it gently around the inside of the pipe.  The sprinkler has a 25 mm (1") male-threaded fitting to connect to the main water-delivery line from your aquaponics system.
