Prac Aqua Iron Chelates EDDHA 200g

Iron is a crucial nutrient for plants, being involved in chlorophyll production, among other major functions.

The most obvious sign of iron deficiency in plants is a yellowing of the leaves, called chlorosis.  If left untreated, the plants will eventually die.

This soluble EDDHA chelated iron (6% Fe) helps manage and avoid iron deficiencies in your aquaponics system.  (If you are using water that is already high in iron, then you probably won't have much of a problem with deficiency in the plants, so won't need to use additives.)

EDDHA iron also aids in the absorption of other vital elements such as calcium, so it is a necessary supplement to help avoid these deficiencies, too.  For example, if your plants seem calcium deficient but aren't responding to calcium supplements, you might need to add some EDDHA iron as well, to help the plants absorb the calcium.

EDDHA is the only form of iron chelates recommended for aquaponics use:

• It is readily available to plants at the pH levels used in aquaponics systems, and is therefore very effective. Other types of iron chelates, such as EDTA, are not as bio-available at the pH levels used in aquaponics systems, and are therefore less effective.
• It can be added to the water in the aquaponics system, or used as a foliar spray. Other types can be used only as foliar spray.

Each jar contains 200 g of EDDHA iron chelate.  When needed, add it to your system at a rate of 30 g per 1000 L of water in the whole system, putting it in as far away from the fish tank as possible.

Putting this iron in your system will turn the water a reddish-brown colour.  This is not the least bit harmful to your fish or plants.

Avoid losing your plants to iron deficiency!  Get some of this excellent EDDHA chelated iron into your system.
